New Mobile Updates!
Microsoft has released a couple updates to their mobile apps this week. Microsoft has been busy adding value to their suite of mobile Office 365 apps.
The first is support for Teams Meetings in Outlook Mobile. This highly anticipated update is scheduled to begin roll out in the beginning of March 2019. This feature was previously announced at Microsoft Ignite. This update will allow users to natively create Teams meetings directly from their Android and IOS devices. When this update rolls out, it will replace the Skype for Business functionality with Teams.
This next update, MailTip for external recipients, should be rolling out now. This new capability for Outlook Mobile for Android and IOS will help protect sensitive company information by creating an alert when an external recipient is in the email address list when composing or replying to email messages. The default setting for Office 365 users will be “ON”. At this time Office 365 Government Community Cloud (GCC) will not be receiving this feature.
The Microsoft 365 Admin mobile app (renamed from Office 365 admin mobile app) also seen some love from the Microsoft Development Team. As you may know, the Microsoft 365 Admin mobile app puts the power of the cloud in the hands of administrators allowing them to receive notifications, add users, reset passwords, manage devices, create support requests, and much more. Now, with the latest update the app will now give administrators the ability to:
- Restore corporate devices to their factory state
- Remove corporate data from personal devices
The app will be available in both the Google Play and iTunes app store.
